Notes to Instructors
- Use The Materials as a guide.
- Do not read slide materials word for word
- Explain the concepts in your own words
- Demonstrate the concepts
- Give students time to imitate
- Ensure students understand now is not the time for perfection, students have to get use to being a little bit behind
- Don't allow any student to to hold the class for technical issues, the IA's must handle that off camera
- Most students won't understand everything perfectly on first pass, make sure students know the reading material /textbook is not optional
- This information applies to every lesson here and thereafter
Tips
I would open the task and demonstrate some of the changes they could make to the format of the page using the css properties show on the slide. Common mistakes seem to be pupils missing - or ; or spelling such as colour instead of color etc. So I would try to preempt these potential errors and deliberately make common errors that I may have seen in previous lessons etc and see if anyone in the class can spot what they are and how to fix them.
TASK
Learners will be tasked with making their own poster. I would always encourage pupils to be creative and say it doesn’t have to be a wanted poster, it could be a poster for a gig, a movie, an event etc.
For HW/LAB Students Will Be Tasked With Making A Robot
I would open the task and demonstrate some of the changes they could make to the format of the page using the css properties show on the slide. I would ask the class for which set of eyes they would like for their robot and show them how to adjust the positioning of them etc. This is a fun task that pupils enjoy. It is a good task that allows pupils to be accurate with what they are changing and also to really practice and understand how HTML and CSS code are connected.
After Demonstrating The Robot, Students will work on this in class and complete for HW.
TLDR
- HW and LAB are the same
- Start Lab in class and HW
